As of noonish today, I am officially no longer the owner of the Hazel House. The closing went smoothly. Now, like Camelot before it, the Hazel House will fade into the mists and myths of time. It’s been such a relief for it to now be in the hands of someone excited to have it. As I’ve noted previously, taking care of a house that I haven’t lived in for months, getting it ready to sell, moving, etc, was getting old. But it’s done with. And now, a three-day weekend with no social obligations and very little that needs to be done. I’m going to read, do a little writing, go out to dinner, and unpack twenty or so boxes of books (plus sort them and put them on the bookcases in my office).
Speaking of, my office is starting to look like a big boi office again. The folding table’s been replaced by the Uplift disk, the corner bookcase will soon be stuffed full, and shit’s finally getting put away. Before too long, there might even be art on the walls.
LAST READ: I FINALLY finished KING OF ASHES. It’s a dark, gripping novel, and goddamn was it good. S.A. Cosby’s gritty, noirish prose borders on poetry sometimes.
LAST WATCHED: PREDATOR: BADLANDS (was simply a fucking goofy and bad movie)
